REACTing identifies some funding opportunities on COVID-19. REACTing strives to connect the teams involved and enable them to find synergies to respond together to these calls for projects.

  • Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) – Appel à projets RA COVID-19(deadline for submission : October 2020.)

    Following the initial call on COVID, the ANR has launched a call for projects with a special focus on research-action on COVID-19. Focused on four priorities identified by the WHO, this flash call will remain open until Fall 2020.

  • Call for innovative solutions against Covid-19 (Agence de l’innovation de défense –AID)(deadline for submission : 12 April 2020)

    This call aims du fund innovative solutions (technological, organisational, managerial or related to industrial processes) in order to protect the population, support patient care, test the population, monitor the evolution of the disease at an individual level and the evolution of the pandemic, or help limit constraints during the period of crisis.

  • EDCTP – Mobilisation of funding for COVID-19 research in sub-Saharan Africa (Call ID : RIA2020EF)(deadline for submission : 17 April 2020)

    The EDCTP Association has activated the emergency funding mechanism to support Research & Innovation Actions (RIAs) as part of the European response to the COVID-19 emergency. Proposals should provide novel, critical and timely insights into the COVID-19 outbreak in sub-Saharan Africa and/or potential avenues for its management or prevention.

  • Expression of Interest: Sponsor and CRO for clinical trials with COVID-19 candidate vaccines (CEPI)(deadline for submission : 19 April 2020)

    CEPI is requesting information from entities able to serve as possible sponsors or to provide operational trial support (Clinical Research Organizations) for clinical trials involving vaccine candidates against COVID-19.

  • Banque Publique d’Investissement (BPI France) –Call PSPC Covid-19(deadline for submission : 30 september 2020)

    BPI France has launched a call for collaborative R&D projects associating academic and industrial partners. The call aims to fund therapeutic solutions and clinical trials. Funding per project will range from 4 to 50M€. Submission is possible until september 30.

  • Special call for proposals : Fight SARS-CoV-2(deadline for submission : 31 December 2020)

    The DIM ELICIT would like to support projects developing innovative technologies and methods regarding the analysis, diagnosis and/or treatment to fight SARS-CoV-2. Any research team from the Ile de France region can apply with a project linked to the infectious agent SARS-CoV-2, and in accordance with the DIM ELICIT’s goals, positioning and thematic axes.

  • DIM1HEALTH (Deadline for submission : 15 May 2020)

    A new annual call for tender to support infectious disease research in Île-de-France until the 15th May. Through the environmental health, human health and animal health triad, DIM1HEALTH targets the actions involved in the «screening-surveillance-treatment-prevention-prediction» chain, while taking into account the societal demand. DIM1HEALTH supports collaborative projects, symposium and investment. Faced with the emergence of the COVID-19 crisis, the DIM1HEALTH scientific council decided to reserve at least 20% of the budget (€ 500k) in priority for research on the fight against coronaviruses.

  • Agence Nationale de recherche sur le VIH et les hépatites virales (ANRS) – AAP flash COVID-19 Sud (Deadline for submission : 13 April 2020.)

    To support research on COVID-19 in resource-limited countries, the National Agency for Research on HIV and Viral Hepatitis (ANRS) is launching an exceptional Call for Projects COVID-19 “South” from Wednesday 1 April 2020. Four million euros will be available for research projects conducted in resource-limited countries submitted by Monday 13 April, 23:59.
    The projects submitted must be proposed by at least one research team based in the South associated with at least one team based in France.

  • Direction Générale de l’Offre de Soins (DGOS) – COVID-19 (Deadline for submission : 06 April 2020.)

    Given the context, the Innovarc-3 project submission platform is being kept open, with a view to collecting new letters of intent dedicated to COVID-19, in order to identify and fund, if necessary, research projects that are particularly urgent to implement and whose impact could be crucial in managing the crisis.     The ANR has launched a call for projects with an accelerated evaluation and selection process on COVID-19. With an initial budget of 3 M€ and focused on four priorities identified by the WHO, this flash call aims to rapidly support the scientific communities mobilized on COVID-19.

  • Innovative Medecines Initiative call – IMI2 (Call ID: H2020-JTI-IMI2-2020-21-single-stage) (Deadline for submission : 31 March 2020.)

    Topic : Development of therapeutics and diagnostics combatting coronavirus infections
    Scope: Considering that this is a newly-identified virus, the scope of this topic remains broad and must address at least one of the following objectives:

    • development of antivirals as well as other types of therapeutics to address a rapid response to the current COVID-19 outbreak;
    • development of therapeutics to address the current and/or future coronavirus outbreaks;
    • development of diagnostics, ensuring rapid evaluation of candidates based on existing technologies;
    • development of fast and reliable tools that go beyond the state of the art for detection of COVID-19 carriers and symptomatic individuals suspected of COVID-19 infection.

    Preventive vaccines are specifically excluded from the scope of the Call.

  • EU Commission call « Advancing knowledge for the clinical and public health response to the 2019-nCoV epidemic » (Call ID: H2020-SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020) (This call is closed since 12 February 2020.)

    French research in Europe : selected projects involving French teams French research is swinging into action at the European level with the coordination of the Rapid European COVID-19 Emergency Response (RECOVER) project. Funded by the European Commission, it involves 10 international partners and its multiple components include epidemiological, clinical, and social science studies.
    France is also participating in the research projects Fight-nCoV (Fighting-Off Coronavirus (Sars-Cov-2) With Broad-Spectrum Antivirals: Establishing Animal Viral Challenge Model), I-MOVE-COVID-19 (Multidisciplinary European network for research, prevention and control of the COVID-19 Pandemic) and CoNVat (Combating 2019-nCoV: Advanced Nanobiosensing platforms for POC global diagnostics and surveillance). → See selected projects
